I found them a home. They have been with Nacy a week now, and are doing great. I couldn't have found a better foster parent for my babies. We made arrangements so when myself or brother are in better living situations again we can have them back. Thank you so much for the Rescue Me! website. I will recommend it to others. Amanda

Hansel was adopted by a extremely wonderful family in Pennsylvania. The woman emails me back and forth, so that gives me a good piece of mind. He needed dental work and medically was given the help that literally saved his life. Without the Rescue Me! website, the consequences for Hansel would have been grim. Thanks again for your great site. Take care, Debbie

Miss Sophia was adopted by a wonderful family in Oklahoma. Sophia now has an older sister, and she has learned to use a doggy door in just a couple of days!! I am content in the fact that the family that adopted her are good people. They have sent pictures every day, and Sophia looks happy and comfortable!!

Anthony was in need of a special human, one that had time to help the poor little fellow. Anthony's 'Mommy' was unable to care for him so he had to be put up for a new home. The day after the post went up on Rescue Me!, I received an email about him! William came to visit on Sunday and although Anthony was less than friendly, William wanted to take him him to meet his 'new sisters'! My fee for the adoption was a donation to the Rescue Me! website and I suggest others do this as well to help support it and all the 'puppies' it can help.

Oscar was adopted... YEAH!!!!!!!! A very nice lady that lives about 30 minutes from us was texting my wife back and forth, and we met her, and she loves him. We are so thankful for your site, Rescue Me! Without it, I was afraid we weren't going to find him a good home. The people are so excited and cannot wait to get him after they come back from a week long vacation. Thanks for all your help.

We had been trying for weeks to find a new home for our Barkley. Not because we no longer wanted him, we do. But, after being homeless for several months and moving into a new place, we are over the allotted pet limit. I couldn't just hand him to a shelter, but no one wanted our sweet boy. I'm not sure how I found the Rescue Me! site, but I did. I logged on, posted Barkley's picture and details and a week later people were calling to adopt him. I'm heartbroken about needing this organization, but I'm glad that it connected me with someone who will love my boy as much as I do. Giving up a fur baby is never easy, but this site made it manageable. Thank you!

Sidney is a mature, long-haired Dachshund who unexpectedly found himself facing homelessness when his original owner tragically died. I opted to foster Sidney, as I fell for his friendly nature. Unaccustomed to Dachshunds, Sidney has turned this 'big-dog girl' into a lover of little dogs, too. I promptly placed an on-line profile for Sidney on Rescue Me! and was surprised the next morning to awaken to three responses. All inquiries seemed to come from genuinely loving and caring people, who had experience with this breed. In a world of 'first come, first serve' I was most impressed when my very first prospects asked discerning questions about Sidney's life, lifestyle, diet, health and medical records. This let me know that these people cared not only about his past, but also his future. After about a week's worth of communication, the prospects finally got to meet Sidney tonight. I told him this morning that he MAY be going to live someplace where he would have two humans and a playmate his own size. I was MOST pleased to see him greet the prospects with tail wagging and some sugars. He pulled a dog toy out of his bag to share with them and entice them into play, and allowed them to walk him about briefly. He gave me some sweet sugars good-bye & my heart melted when he didn't hesitate to jump in the vehicle with them. Win/Win/Win!!! Thank you, Rescue Me! Your patrons are angels... some with four legs, and others with two.

Luna was adopted by Debbie and Bob. They recently lost a Doxie and needed a new partner in crime for their remaining Doxie. Debbie is retiring in 27 days! And she and Bob travel the country with their dogs. They are a Godsend to me! I have never adopted out a dog, as I am a lifetime Mom. I am going to the Middle East for work and taking Luna was not possible. Feeling happy for Luna, Debbie and Bob and Oscar, their Doxie. I know that she has found a forever family! For those of you who expressed interest, thank you so much. She is a beauty and it has been so comforting to have so many quality folks interested in her!

Bucky was adopted by the most wonderful family last weekend! We picked up Bucky from the shelter in South Carolina the very day he was to be euthanized over 10 months ago. We fostered him through his heartworm treatment, socialized him and helped him learn to trust and love again. It was very difficult to find Bucky a home due to his heartworm status but we were patient and knew the perfect family would finally step up and they did! With the help of Facebook and networking, I was able to connect with two very kind women in Pennsylvania who offered to share him on Rescue Me! We received much more interest in Bucky once he was posted on your site. I knew the moment that I received the email from Chris in New Jersey that he was the one, so we scheduled a 'trial' weekend, drove him 10 1/2 hours and crossed our fingers that Bucky fit in with his new Dad and three children. They fell in love with him immediately and he is doing great. He has a wonderful, safe home with kids to chase and warm beds to sleep in and we cannot thank you enough for making this possible.

They have found a loving home with a family that lost their sweet animal just days prior to seeing ours on the website. We have been able to keep in touch and both dogs are doing well with their new family. What a blessing!

Sady and Lady lived with my mother and father in law for the past five years. My father in law passed away this past January and my mother in law has Alzheimer's. She couldn't take care of the dogs by herself so we posted them to Rescue Me. They both went together to a new home with another Dachshund and 2 little kids. The people were so happy to have them. We are glad they found a new home so quickly. We are very happy to have found this site.

We had great success in getting a new home for our precious little dachshund Candy. Unfortunately, our son, Candy's owner had to relocate out of state and was unable to take her, also we are unable to keep her because of other pets in household. We posted her on the Rescue Me website on Wednesday 01/23/13 in the evening and within an hour a wonderful lady called wanting to adopt Candy. On Friday 01/25/13 we delivered Candy to her new owner. We were happily shocked at the quick response to our post on the website. We have had several more inquires about her, I did not realize so many people scan this website daily looking for pets. The Rescue Me website is providing a valuable service helping people place pets that they can no longer care for in homes where they will be loved.

Dapples found a new home within a week of posting. She is living with a lovely family (heaven-sent, I am sure) who already had a couple of senior doxies. For the past several months a change in our living situation forced us to kennel her for hours at a time. Now though, she not only has playmates, she doesn't have to live 'behind bars' anymore. I was truly amazed to find a home for her, given her age and health issues. We would've had to put her down if Rescue Me's Dachshund Rescue hadn't come to our aid. Thank you.

After many months of unsuccessful interviews trying to find a good home for my girls I turned to Rescue Me! Very quickly I received an email from a couple interested in taking both girls. We chatted, then the girls and I went to their home to meet. I have no doubt this will prove to be a perfect match for both parties. The thought of parting with my girls is difficult to say the least, however knowing they will be with people who are capable of caring for them along with the ability to give lots of love makes it bearable.      Rescue Me! is helping one family adopt two dachshunds in two different states! A wonderful gal applied to adopt Charlie, we conducted a home visit, approved of the adoption, and will be delivering him to his forever home today. While there, we learned that her mother actually found Rescue Me! first, through whom she is adopting a dachshund in Colorado. She had sent a link to show off her new baby, and after all the oohs and aahs, Charlie's new mom clicked on Arizona since she lives here in Phoenix, saw Charlie, and was instantly ready to add a new dachshund to her pack since her eldest dachshund had recently crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you Rescue Me!, from ALL of us!

I love this site. It does narrow the search for a new home to animal lovers. A young lady came to our house on a Tuesday night and brought her dog to meet him. They got along great and they played and played. The family home would have been a wonderful place for him to live. However, when Snicks was picked up Saturday night, their dog went nuts over Snick's being on her turf. Snicks came back home around 11pm that same night because the other dog was just too mean. I re-posted Snick's to find him a good home and I screen my family's a little more carefully. It was devastating for him to leave and come back again, just so he will have to leave again. Thank you though.

OMGosh...I had just found this site, figured it couldn't hurt to join, and listed Holly. I had not even posted her on my own website yet, or the other one I use. I had an appointment and had to leave, so I didn't get the other available dogs posted. When I was backing out of my driveway, my phone rang. It was Holly's new mom. Baffled for a second, I asked how she knew about Holly (not even sure that I has successfully posted my first dog) and she told me that Rescue Me notified her via email that a new dachshund had been listed for adoption....and this is the one she has been waiting for. 125 miles apart, we met in the middle the following day and Holly went home with her new family. In MINUTES, literally, Rescue Me brought me a qualified adopter for one of my rescues. I LOVE the email alert program you have to notify people who are looking for a dog when new ones are available. THANK YOU!

She found a wonderful home with a family where she will be loved. And she found her new home very quickly. Thank you Rescue Me!!

Due to several unanticipated factors in our family we found it necessary to place our 5 and a half year old tweenie doxie, Holly, for adoption. After one failed placement (too many doxies in one home) we placed an ad on Rescue Me. Although I did not have a photo to post at the time I submitted the initial ad, we received a call from an interested family within 48 hours. After several conversations, a meeting was arranged for the family to meet our little girl and see if a 'match' had been made....Fortunately for all of us and especially Holly, a match was made and she just left with her new family a few hours ago. Although it was a painful decision for our family, we feel that she is now in a family where she will be the center of the universe-the place which all doxies know is divinely theirs alone... Thank you, RescueMe.Org for helping us find a loving and wonderful new home for our doxie!

Within a day I had people asking about Slinky. This site helped me to find a great home for Slinky. It was very easy to use and I was very happy with the results. I know Slinky has a great new family and will be happy where he is. Thank you Rescue Me for helping me to spread the word about our little guy needing a new place to live.

Senior gal Saucie found her forever home with a wonderful couple in Sun City, AZ. They adopted her after losing their senior gal of 17 years. Saucie now gets to spend her summers in the cooler climate of Pinetop & will enjoy the life of a pampered & loved dog for her remaining years.

Sasha was days away from having to be put down due to a terminal illness in our household. We were actually making the devastating arrangements when the phone rang and Sasha's angel put a hold on it. It seemed meant to be. In three minutes flat Sasha had already crossed her personal barriers and behaviors that had prevented her from being adopted previously. We are so grateful and happy.

Rescue Me! was very helpful... I had rescued Blue and have been fostering him since last October. Blue did find a home and it appears to be permanent. I have had many emails and pictures and he looks very happy. He went to a family with one other dog and a ten year old girl who appears to be spoiling him rotten, as he should be. Thanks so much for having this site it is nice to know there are those out there who try to help. I had tried other places with no help. Thanks again, Stephanie Abernathy

Jeff: I was amazed at the inquiries I received within just one day of posting Dieter for adoption; I love this breed and feel comforted knowing there are many people out there with compassion in their hearts. However, after much soul searching, once we saw Dieter posted, my partner and I decided we just needed to give him another try and give him the best shot at a stable life, so we are going to keep him and do our best to make things work here albeit, with certain sacrifices. Thank you for your service. Blaine Huebner

Bozo's original owners were evicted from their property and moved and left Bozo in the front yard. A neighbor witnessed this atrocity and went over and brought Bozo home with her. She contacted our rescue, Brantley Animal Rescue Coalition, and we posted Bozo on RescueMe.Org. A nice lady, who already had one rescued Dachshund mix, saw Bozo and had to adopt him as well. Her first rescue is named Barney, so Bozo was renamed Fred. Now Fred and Barney are best friends forever. This could not have happened if not for RescueMe.Org. Thank you for giving Bozo, now Fred, the chance to have a wonderful life.

Jeff, Thanks so much for helping us find Moses a new forever home. We were so upset when we realized that we would not be able to take Moses to the mission field with us in Guatemala, but this had a happy ending. His new mommy has a big yard and other friends for him to play with and she LOVES her dogs. They are indeed part of her family and Moses is adjusting very well there. We are very thankful for Rescue Me! Fred & Dusty Dixon

Hi Jeff, Thanks for all your hard work with Rescue Me! Ron and I have been rescuing/fostering dachshunds since our sweet black and tan Lilly passed away. For the past few years we have fostered/rescued 10 doxies or doxie mix dogs. Mr. Wiggles is our 11th and he just fits right in with our other rescues (which includes our 4 month old terrier/doxie mix J.D., that was found in a dumpster when he was about 6 weeks old). J.D. and Mr. Wiggles play together so well and J.D. snuggles with him when they sleep. We will continue to do what we can for our sweet doxies... Thanks for all you do. God Bless, Laura Tarbutton

Dear Jeff, My home situation was changing with my youngest son heading to college in the fall, having our Dachshunds, Teddy and Tucker home all day in a kennel and kennelled at night seemed unfair to them. We, as a family, decided that if we could find a good family who would adopt them both, we would make the hard choice of letting them go where they could have a better life. We had them for 8 years, since they were weaned, so letting them go was a very hard decision. We asked all our friends, friends of friends, and more, but no one was able to adopt them. My aunt suggested I list them with a Dachshund rescue, and that's how I found RescueMe.Org. I placed them online on Wednesday, posted a better picture on Thursday, and Saturday morning I got a call from a family who had just lost a dachshund named Tucker that looked just like my Tucker. They had been looking to add a 2nd dog before their Tucker passed away, so finding another Tucker that looked like theirs and could get his brother Teddy as a second dachshund seemed like fate. It was for us too. We now know where they are, who is caring for them and get occasional updates as to their exploits. I can't think of a better 'next chapter' to their story. I've attached a photo of them in their new home, they sure seem to have settled in nicely. Thank you and we'll be sending a donation to RescueMe.Org to help you help another with their pets.      Dear Jeff, This is the most amazing story! Chewie was not adopted. But that is great! The reason I could not keep Chewie was because of series of unfortunate events, that included the death of my husband last October. I had to move to an apartment from the house I had lived in since 1998. While the apartment allowed pets, I did not have the $300 non-refundable deposit to make it legal for Chewie to be there. There is also an additional $20 a month fee for him to live with me. I smuggled Chewie in and prayed everyday he would not be discovered before I could find him a home. He is 10 years old and in excellent health, but I worried about him going to a new home at that age. I was contacted by a woman named Cindy. She had seen Chewie on Rescue Me and was determined to help me find him a home. We emailed back and forth for several weeks, trying to find a solution. She was trying to put together a relay team to transport Chewie to her home, on the east coast of Florida, so she could foster him until he found a forever home. One day during the emails, the Cindy made a statement 'that it was too bad the complex where I live would not allow pets.' I advised her that the reason was not that I couldn't have Chewie but that I could not pay the deposit. Cindy then advised that the rescue group she works with had a fund for just such situations. About a week later she sent me the money for the deposit! Chewie is now a legal resident of the apartment complex. None of this would have been possible without Rescue Me! I will forever be grateful to your organization. Please feel free to share my story. I am attaching a picture of Chewie, sound asleep in my bed, the night we got the money from Cindy for the deposit. Eve

Hi Jeff, Izzy has been adopted. I am the director and founder of this new organization and plan to use 'Rescue Me' to list our hard to place pets. I have not collected adoption fees for the 2 pets that I have listed because they were not officially U-CP pets and I could not guarantee the medical records. I do have a couple of cats that I will be posting that are U-CP charges so I will be sending a donation when they get adopted. I am having excellent success with Rescue Me. Both of the dogs that I listed started to attract attention within 24 hours of their listing. I was able to send them off to their good life with a new family. I have sent your message on to the family that adopted Izzy. Lynda

Hi Jeff - Mo did find a new home and I was very happy with the results. The first person who contacted me gave him a new home. We met in between our respective homes and she & her family 'talked' with Mo and fell in love immediately. I actually have another doxie that I have listed - we are expecting a baby in our home and simply have to down-size. It is so much easier to do this knowing that people who visit this site our true dachshund lovers and that our 'Chopper' will get a great home. Thanks! Jodie

Hi Jeff Thanks you for the e-mail about Holley. Yes, she has found a new home. I did tell the family that if it doesn't work out. I would be glad to take her back. I want what is best for Holley and for the new family. I did have two interested people who replied to the ad; however, in the end someone I knew's sister came to visit with Holley. Then she brought her husband, and they ended up taking her home. I am hoping and praying it is a good fit. Thanks for your help. Michael Mazzon

It was very helpful Cheyenne 'Baby Girl' has found a new home with wonderful people, I call them her guardian angels! It was a very hard decision for me to make because I loved her soooo much I hated to give her up and I didn't want her to feel like I did not want her, when really I wanted her but knew deep down that someone else could provide the help she needed to get better. Thank you to your website and to Baby Girl's Guardian Angel! Yes I would like to make a donation as soon as I get some extra money I will mail it to your facility. Again thank you and god bless! Thank you Jenny
