We'd like to introduce you all to our amazing bonded pair, Duke and Dixon! Duke is a black and cream wirehaired Dachshund 2 years old, 18 lbs, neutered, vaccinated and successfully completed heart worm treatment. Dixon is a 2 year old wheaton wirehaired Dachshund, 18 lbs, vaccinated, neutered and current on heart worm prevention. Dixon is very bonded to Duke and gets anxious when his brother is not in his sight. Duke is very independent but is always there for his brother. They sleep in the same crate and are never far from each other when outside for a romp. Duke and Dixon do well with other dogs and adore people. Dixon is more shy at first ... (Read More)but will follow Duke's lead. They were found wandering a north TX neighborhood and their owners decided to not reclaim. They used to be outside dogs but have done wonderful while in foster on learning to only potty outside. Duke and Dixon were very stressed when at the shelter; however they calmed down once they were in their fosters' home. They got the hang of the crate in no time at all. They may bark or growl at first so don't worry it won't last more than a few minutes. WDCR requires an adoption application, home and reference check and a meet and greet with current pets and/or children in the home They are being fostered in Wheatland, WY. (Less)
