Rescue Me ID: 17-07-16-00333Lil Abner (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Lil Abner (formerly Lance from LUAC) He is just the sweetest little Doxie Beagle mix boy. We went to the shelter to pick up 2 specific dogs and this little guy just sat and looked at me while I was loading up to leave to the point that I went back inside and got him too! so needless to say, this guy is a little charmer and oh how cute!!!!! He does well with all the odgs here so far and just loves attention. When I scooped him up at the shelter he was quite shy and just put his little head on my shoulder. The shyness seems to be gone but he still puts his head on my shoulder. He is up to date on his shots, 4D snap tested and heart worm ... (Read More)negative but tested a slight positive for the lymes titer but is presenting no symptoms. He is on a precautionary month long course of doxycycline. He is wormed, flea treated and started his heart worm preventative. He is neutered and micro chipped as well. If interested in Lil Abner, email us at mmadoptions@gmail.com for an application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-06-00270Frankie (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Frankie is extremely loyal but unfortunately does not do well around people. He seems to prefer people who like his breed. He can sense high strung personalities and does not do well with those. He knows to use the bathroom outside but prefers to use it whenever he feels like it (usually in the bathroom but not always). He has bitten people before, not bad but enough to make me nervous to have him around children. Unfortunately my busy schedule doesn't allow me to care for him like he needs to be cared for. He will need his annual vaccines and rabies shot as of the date of this post.

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00114Charlie (male)

Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

When Charlie came into foster care, his coat was very dull, his nails were curled into his paws, and his teeth and gum infections made the whole house stinky. His nails are trimmed, his remaining teeth and breath are perfect and non stinky, and his coat and eyes have brightened after some foster mama loving. Charlie is a 7-8yo, 14#, chocolate and tan male Dachshund. He's the longest doggie I have ever seen! He loves his walks, squeaky toys, and laying by your side. This sweet boy will look up and give you a thank you wag before eating. He just had 16 teeth removed so it's best to feed him small kibble. Charlie is a calm boy that gets ... (Read More)along great with other dogs and small children. He has not been tested with cats. Like most male Dachshunds, Charlie could use some work with potty training, but using a belly band in the house works well to discourage accidents. Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Archie is a spunky, loving, playful boy with kitten soft fur, loads of personality, and a very intelligent face. His owners surrendered him because their big dog would constantly abuse him. Before those owners, he reportedly lived in a cage all his life. He is a 7-8 year old male black and tan Dachshund, who weighs about 14#. He loves his walks, playing fetch, belly rubs, and throwing around squeaky toys. Archie will resource guard from other dogs, but has not shown any aggression towards the humans in his foster home or at the vet. He may have been abused in the past by humans because he cowers when human hands go near his face. He would be ... (Read More)an awesome, constant companion, and would prefer to be an only dog.
