Rescue Me ID: 16-08-21-00014Ranger (male)

Dachshund    Age: Adult

Ranger is a beautiful, chocolate and red purebred dachshund. He's only about 10lbs and is about 5-6yrs old. He's somewhat insecure and timid when he meets new people but after 15minutes or so... and lots of treats... he begins to trust and will hang out on your lap. He likes to lay next to you, too, when watching a show. Ranger is great with other dogs but does not need another in the home. He's also fine with cats and he likes kids over the age of 9. He does get a bit anxious if left alone for too long so retired folks or those that work from home would be ideal. He is currently being fostered in the Tacoma area.

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-10-00299AJ (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

AJ is a lot of dog in a tiny package! Don't let his adorable looks fool you, he actually IS a tough guy! AJ can be a friendly and happy guy -- he loves to be petted and scratched played with -- but, he wears his emotions on his 'sleeve' and will let you know if he is upset... AJ would be best as an ONLY pet, or paired up with a submissive female dog (that he approves of) as he does have a history of fighting with male dogs. If you love feisty terriers, and you think you can handle 12 lbs of tough guy, alligator, wire-haired-adorableness, come meet AJ!

My wife and I both work full time and Tessa isn't able to move around for up to 12 hours a day. I don't want to put her down because she seems to still have plenty of life left in her. If she could go to a home where she can get around with wheels, that would be great. Thank you!

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Very Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Deaf

Meet Mikey! He is a 8-year-old male chi/doxie mix who is calm with a low energy personality. Mikey was abused in his past so he can be very scared at first. Mikey is crate and (was) potty trained and gets along well with other dogs. He does well with humans of all sizes, but would prefer a calm and quiet home to relax in and spend his days. Mikey does well on a leash and in the car. Mikey would love a companion who he can cuddle up next to and someone who will be patient with him and take him for walks. Mikey is getting older and is going blind/deaf. Although he can still see and hear a little bit, he does not like to be startled so you ...
