Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Perry came to us from craigslist, an owner was getting rid of him due to allergies. Upon rescuing Perry we found him covered in flea scabs, he had numerous bald spots, would scratch himself into oblivion if he was given the choice. His fosters call him Perry Manalow and have done an amazing job with him. Almost all of his hair has come back, he is no longer covered in flea scabs, and only scratches when he needs to and not because his skin is on fire. He is a cooperative, happy, 6 year old dog who loves to hike. He is being fostered in Bremerton, WA and is $250.00.

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-25-00161Lucy & Eloise (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Darling little Lucy (daughter) Eloise (mama)? This mama and daughter bonded duo are very sweet, shy girls that love to crawl on your lap for cuddles and nap time. They are very shy when meeting new folks and they will take an afternoon to open up and become more secure with their new surroundings. The love to race around the yard together... and they eat from each other's bowls and sleep together, too. Even though they are very insecure, they are gentle little girls so would be great with kids over the age of 10. They are crate trained and can be left alone for about 6hrs or so. They must have a fenced backyard because currently, they ... (Read More)are not quite sure what a leash is. They are learning quickly, though! These sweet girls must stay together and an easy going environment would be best (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

What a cute boy this is! Owen is barely a year old and he weighs about 10lbs. He is a very friendly little guy that loves to play the day away with lots of other dogs, or curl up for a nap on any lap that will have him. Because Owen is a very energetic guy, another small dog in the home would be best. He would be a great condo dog companion, as long as he has plenty of daily walks. He's great with kids, too. Because of his young age, he should not be left alone for more than 5-6hr intervals. No kitties for Owen

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-27-00298Wolfie (male)

Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to rehome my mini dachshund, Woofie/Wolfie. He is somewhere between 7-9 years old, and overall very healthy. The only medical issue I have had with him is the typical dachshund mouth. He had his last dental in March where he had a few teeth extracted, but his breath smells again. He is current on vaccines (DHLPP, Bordatella, and Rabies) and very recent bloodwork shows that he is in good health. He has the typical dachshund quirks of having occasional accidents in the house and submissively urinates. He would best be suited with someone who is retired and looking for a constant cuddler. He asks for ... (Read More)constant attention and gets separation anxiety when he thinks he is alone (he howls pretty loudly). He has been around my cats and other dogs (he loves large dogs) for a few years, and actually does quite well with children. However, he does not tolerate puppies very well. He will eat anything he can find, and loves to lay in the sun. I am asking that $150 be donated to Rescue Me as his adoption fee. I want him to just find a better home than I currently can provide. I am completely downtrodden that it has reached this point. (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

Little Miss Lanky needs a home with women! She is especially fond of women, does not like men, and is too protective to be with small children. Lanky is affectionate, smart and loves to snuggle. She is a blanket burrower...loving the covers and blankets on beds and a couch! She would not mind another doggie friend, but no cats or birds! Lanky is also allergic to the rabies vaccination, so care must be taken to keep her out of trouble! Lanky's owner is happy to talk to anyone about her, and just wants what is best for Lanky. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-21-00371Dobby (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures,
 Abused/Neglected, Aggressive

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] I have 2 dogs - a senior and a 6 year old Dachshund mix named Dobby. Dobby has become more aggressive since moving to WA state and has injured my senior dog at least 4 times - I think they got into a fight when I wasn't home since the senior was visibly upset when I got home but I don't count this one since there was no injury. Dobby is constantly picking fights now and I can't pinpoint the cause. I've taken away toys that he was protecting, but twice he's fought when I wasn't in the room. I can also be a trigger since Dobby is so protective. He's a tiny 12 lb dog, but he incredibly protective. The ... (Read More)situation has become too stressful for my senior dog since he's being attacked almost weekly. Dobby was rescued from a situation in which he wasn't ever let out of a crate so he received no socialization. Currently he's incredible with me, snuggly, and sweet, but protective with all other people and animals. I didn't know any of this when I adopted him. Dobby would do incredible in a home with no kids or other animals, but that isn't my home. He also has a seizure disorder with seizures occurring once every 3-5 months. He doesn't take any medications, but I do give him Canna-pet treats to help with anxiety. I didn't know about the seizures either when he was adopted - the Lubbock ASPCA Foster mom just handed him over without any instruction. I'll provide current food, instructions, toys, and treats. He will take about 24 hours with a new person before he's comfortable/understands that the person will not hurt him. His rescue situation left him incredibly fearful of strangers, but after that short 24 hour period, he becomes a total love bug. He CAN NOT go to a home with another dog. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-27-00212Ming (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Darling Ming is a bit insecure when meeting new people but after just a short while, and a couple of treats, she loves to climb on your lap and cuddle. Until she gets to know you, she is also apprehensive about being picked up. Once this silly little girl gets to know you, she loves to jump in your arms or show her excitement by dancing and twirling. She is house and crate trained, and can be trusted home alone for a reasonable amount of time. She gets along great with other dogs and cats, and should have another balanced dog in the home to help boost her confidence. Because she can be a bit nervous with fast movement, an adult only ... (Read More)home is best. Ming is about 2.5 yrs old and weighs about 12lbs. She is currently being fostered in the Tacoma area. (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Very Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Deaf

Meet Mikey! He is a 8-year-old male chi/doxie mix who is calm with a low energy personality. Mikey was abused in his past so he can be very scared at first. Mikey is crate and (was) potty trained and gets along well with other dogs. He does well with humans of all sizes, but would prefer a calm and quiet home to relax in and spend his days. Mikey does well on a leash and in the car. Mikey would love a companion who he can cuddle up next to and someone who will be patient with him and take him for walks. Mikey is getting older and is going blind/deaf. Although he can still see and hear a little bit, he does not like to be startled so you ... (Read More)must ensure he knows you're there before petting him or picking him up. (Less)
