Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Abused/Neglected

Boo needs a new home. My kids have outgrown her and she needs more love and attention than she is getting. We got her from a family with mean boys that were rough with her so she doesn't like kids until she realizes that they aren't going to hurt her. She is about 8 years old. She is cage trained. She is both an indoor and outdoor dog. She loves to investigate the yard but go inside when she is done. A doggy door would be great for her. Boo is a great lap dog and she is good company. She needs someone to love.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dachshund in Utah
Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Utah if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.

Dachshunds are good travel companions. The short legs of a Dachshund are well suited for digging and getting inside badger burrows. Dachshunds are often referred to as wiener dogs because of their shape. Queen Victoria was fond of Dachshunds.
