Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My name is Stalker. I was dumped and found my way to the front door of this kind hearted, beautiful woman. I know I was safe at her home so I never left and she took me inside her home. She took me to her vet, got all my shots, and she had me neutered. Her vet said, I am about 1.5 yr old, and healthy. I am a handsome boy and very loving. My foster Mom said i have a big personality and very eager to learn. I am friendly to other dogs, big or small. I am also friendly to humans but my foster Mom thinks my previous owners who dumped me were not nice to me. I have fear of human hands but because my foster Mom has the most loving and most ... (Read More)patient heart, I trust her hands now and I am a lot better than when she first found me. I get scared when you raise your hand or would try to reach out to me but I am a good boy. I am not a barker and I am intelligent. I currently live with 4 dogs and I have not been tested with cats. My foster Mom has no kids but she prefers that I go to a loving family who has bigger kids. Do you see the toy in my mouth? Oh, I can play for hours!! I love to go on walks and just be with my humans. My foster Mom said that if someone who has a big, kind, and patient heart like hers who would have the time to work with me, I can be the best dog !!! If you think I am talking to you and would love to meet me, please email my foster Mom at tmluong@gmail.com. Thank you for reading about my story. (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi, My name is Shakira. I'm a shy girl who loves belly rubs and giving kisses. My main hobby is following my foster mom all over the house. Wherever she goes, ... (Read More)I go! I'm working really hard on potty training, but I'm still learning. You just have to make sure to let me outside often enough. I get along well with other dogs. If i had my choice I would go to a home with small dogs though; big dogs can scare me sometime. Bottom line is if you're looking for a sweet girl who loves to cuddle, follow you around all day, and give you kisses then I'm your girl! They estimate that I am a Female Dachshund mix that was born around 11/1/2016 and weighs 13 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_adoption_process.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hola humans, my name is Fala and foster momma named me after this famous pup that got to live in something called the White House way back when with someone ... (Read More)that goes by the President. Sounds like I've got some big shoes to fill. Any who I was found all by my lonesome on the streets of Houston and some nice lady took me from the big bad doggie jail and I became a K-9 Angel! I've been living the good life for a few weeks now and I'm loving every second of it! Foster momma feeds me really good and I love to chase after the other four legged pups in the house. I have to be careful though since I'm so tiny still to not get stepped on. The other K-9 pup in the house thinks he's as big as me and doesn't realize he's not, so for now foster momma just lets me torment the other smaller two. I've been such a good boy sleeping through the night in my puppy pen without a peep and I know to go potty on the newspaper/puppy pads. Since I'm still so young I haven't grasped the whole needing to go potty outside but I think I'm doing good so far for a youngster. Even though I won't have another puppy friend to hang out with I'd like to think I've got the upper hand and used to being by myself so I don't feel lonely being separated from a buddy when I find my furever home. Momma did get me a stuffed lampchop to snuggle up to which I love or just dragging him around my room works too. ;) Fala is a Male Terrier / maybe Dachshund Mix that we estimate to be born around 9/20/2017 and currently weighs 4 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. (Less)

Dachshund    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This beautiful piebald dachshund girl is looking for the perfect home. She is one years old and born 12-15-15. Athena came into rescue with her brother after being kept in a kennel outdoors once the cute puppy wore off without any training or socilization. She is now doggie door & doing well on her potty training. As with any new dog though, she will need to learn a schedule and new surroundings. She is kennel trained at night time. After being penned up all her life would not suggest being kenneled a long time during the day. She is a real love bug and enjoys cuddling. Gets along with her other small foster brothers and sisters. Cats ... (Read More)unknown or small childern. Would do okay around older respectful children. She just needs a home without a lot of commotion to relax & enjoy trusting her new family. Must have a fenced in yard as she enjoys her new freedom. Indoor only, adoption application & home check required. We only adopt in the state of Texas as we do not have the transport resources or a way to complete the required home check. (Less)

Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals are being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until he/she is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If you cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If you want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind tax-deductible donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you, please share this post (Less)

Sam is a real cutie. He came to us when a neighboring city shelter brought him to a local veterinarian to be euthanized along with 4 other dogs. Thankfully, the vet assistant called us. He's a little cautious when he meets someone new so we don't know if maybe someone was mean to him. He warms up really quick though, as soon as he sees he can trust.

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-23-00205Tova (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Tova is a 2-3 yr old Female dachshund mix. Very shy at first. Loves, loves, loves to sleep buried under the covers. She will become a woman's friend quickly once she can cuddle in bed with her. Men will have to work harder at winning her trust. She gets along with other dogs, as long as they're not in her face.. She has fur like velvet. It is so soft. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website ... (Read More)http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. (Less)

Mr Toots is delightful, endearing 14 year old, 12 pound of senior dachshund boy who is a strong alpha boy and likes everyone to remember that he runs the show! Toots is crate trained and leash trained. He tolerates car rides well and has never gotten car sick on his occasional trip out of the yard or house. Toots likes to sleep in his crate and night and enjoys his own me time. Toots is a fussy eater and likes soft food, or better yet HUMAN food! His preference may be due to his limited number of teeth - about 4. His foster mom, in Texas, feeds him a bit of hard food mixed in with his soft food. Toots would do best in a somewhere he is ... (Read More)the only dog or there is only one other dog. He doesn't like dogs that are bigger than him as he knows he is the biggest bravest dog that there is! He does fine with dogs his size or smaller than he is and does well with kitties who do not try and challenge his 'Toots authority'. Toots is not house trained but is used to wearing a belly band and does need to be watched for signs of when he needs to go to the bathroom. Toots has some very normal geriatric vision lost with a milk appearance to his eyes. This gruff old guy has made his way into his foster family's hearts, and we know you would love him too! He is a special guy who is looking for a retirement home and some wonderful people to do what he wants them to do! Why not apply today and show Toots that senior dogs deserve all the love and devotion that we can give them? (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Hansi, and I'm just the friendliest, cutest 35-pound blue merle Dachshund/ Bassett Hound mix gal who was born in November 2009. I'm a total sweetheart who loves hanging out with my people. I'm best with adults and older children; honestly, the young grandkids made me a bit nervous. I'm fine with dogs who are at least my size or larger, but I probably shouldn't be added to a home with a smaller dog because I may try to dominate the little tyke. Incidentally, I've never been around cats except from behind a fence. Nothing thrills me more than hunting for the birds and squirrels in the back yard -- and sometimes I catch ... (Read More)them! I could very likely be trained for hunting if you like that sort of thing. I guess you're wondering why I need to find a new home. Well, I was adopted from Buster's Friends in 2010 by a couple who now are moving to a retirement home, and the new place doesn't allow pets. No worries, I know there's a new family out there who is made to order for an adorable, loving girl like me. I'm in perfect health, so there's no stopping you from coming by to meet me today! Hansi is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Her adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Hansi, and we can arrange for you to meet her.     9/17/17 update: Happy was in for her annual checkup this last week and weighed in at 9 lbs. Doc says she should be about 7 1/2 to 8 lbs. She went through an obedience class this summer and did well. She understands 'no', comes when called and is good on a leash. She uses the doggy door well to go potty with an occasional poopy on the floor if she decides she would rather not go outside. (A woman's perogative? A bratty puppy day? Still trying to figure that one out, lol.) She loves to snuggle and perches on Adelia's shoulder for tv and lounge time. She gets along great with the other pets in the house, including a Border Collie mix (Happy ... (Read More)flirts with him and he can't catch her) and an elderly cat. Happy is a kisser too. Foster mom Adelia says the only fault Happy has (other than the occasional potty compliance issue) is she will sneak out the gate when it is trash day. Adelia has the gate open trying to get the trash can out and Happy runs past her. She runs like the wind until she hears Adelia calling her back for a treat. (Apparently she has been getting a lot of those treats based on her weigh, lol.) If you are interested in adopting Happy, please submit an application at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1lFGhruJkrxnd6EdhCg_JNqc7QFmB7YfO0SZtIkHklVI/edit. We also have a facebook page for our group, Pop's Legacy Rescue Group. July 2016 - Chiweenie girl born Jan. 2016. Precocious pup who still likes to get into anything she can. Very playful! Happy was found running as a stray near a busy intersection on July 5th. Our guess is that she was spooked by fireworks the night before. We were stunned to not find an owner desperately searching for her. She is a bundle of energy and keeps her foster mom on her toes. Happy gets along with the other dogs and even a cat in the foster home. If she can sneak out the door she will! Happy would likely not do well with very young children as she is prone to jump out of your arms when you are holding her. If you are up for adopting a very cute little jumping bean please contact us and we can arrange a meeting. PoPo is a male, Sugar, a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, is his mother. I'm not sure what breed his dad could have been. It can be kept under control with Ivomec once monthly, which is also used for heartworm prevention.
