Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

She loves a good walk, (good on a leash), adventure, camp, snuggling and to ride in the car. She will sit in her carseat and take a nap while traveling. When it is cold she wants PJ's for bedtime and a warm sweater during the day. If she has a soft, warm blanket she will completely cover herself up to sleep. She likes to play fetch with her little loofa dog toy. If you have someone come to the door she will be a good little watch dog, but otherwise is a quiet dog. Rescue Me ID: 15-04-02-00642Porkchop (male)

Dachshund    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy

He is a piebald and a beautiful one at that. He was abused by boyfriend of daughter of father we got him from. He mated with ours and they had puppies that we still have two with us. He's fine around mother and pups and they play all the time. He's never bit anyone but won't listen to my wife and will growl and show teeth when she tries to address him. He gets that way rarely with boys an I. He needs patients and love and time to heal and he will be an amazing best friend.

Animal ID: D150076Roo (New Video) (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Are you that special adopter who will match with little Roo perfectly? Well, to fill that position, you must: 1) Love dogs. 2) Appreciate moderate energy in a little dog, especially one that weighs just16 lbs. 3) Be aware that an 8-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix has YEARS more to enjoy life and make you laugh. 4) Let him snuggle with you or your kids (he grew up in a home with respectful kids, so he's great with them). 5) Have a fenced yard and monitor your home's outside doors closely (yes, Roo can push a screen door open). 6) Enjoy a lengthy game of fetch (check out the video!). 7) Let him outside in a timely manner to potty. 8) Be ... (Read More)grateful that your adopted dog is leash -, crate-, and doggy-door-trained and that he knows the sit command (working on down and stay now). 9) Not worry if someone sticks their hand in his food bowl (he won't bite). 10) Overlook the scars he has from being attacked by a big dog and spending 5 weeks in a vet clinic recovering. 11) Be aware that his ears hear EVERYTHING (especially your approaching car or kibble jingling in a food bowl). 12) Be able to sidestep a happy tail (Roo's never stops wagging unless he's asleep). 13) Accept that your adopted dog will likely make your furniture his bed (but he's very trainable). 14) Be patient as he meets strangers and other dogs (may be submissive at first introduction). 15) Not raise chickens (or have neighbors who do) 16) Understand that a firm 'No' or 'Ack!' is correction enough for any behavior mistakes (Roo becomes very submissive). 17) Be willing to continue his monthly flea/worm/heartworm preventative and daily nutritional joint supplement and keep his DHPP and rabies vaccinations up to date. 18) Tolerate excitement or chastisement piddling while he adjusts to his new home. 19) Keep him safe inside your heart and home and love him to his last breath. We would love to hear from you if you feel you are the person/family we have described. Roo has already been neutered and microchipped and had a recent dental cleaning by a vet, so he's ready to go home with you as soon as you are approved as his adopter! Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Poor sweet Marley was left behind with her siblings when her owners moved away and abandoned her. The mailman found her and brought her to us to find a wonderful home for this sweet girl. Marley is not sure about children, so we think a home without children would be best for her. She is good with people and other dogs. Marley is working on house training. She is leash trained and loves to cuddle with her people. I say she is a cuddle bug. We think she is a 2 year old wire hair dachshund mix and around 30 pounds. She is fully vaccinated and ready to find a forever home.
