|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-01-00229Arya (female)|
Arya is a miracle rescue and is looking for her forever home. She is a 4-5 year old spaniel/ dachshund mix. She is a true survivor. Arya lay sick on the side of the for at least six hours until she was rescued. She was in very bad shape and many thought euthanasia was the only option. With a lot of love and care Arya is healthy now and ready to become a beloved companion. Arya is a very calm and laid back dog, and she loves to cuddle. She would be a spectacular dog for any family. Arya can be a little reserved at first (but her tail will still wag the whole time!) and after a pet or two on the head, or a treat, she will be your best friend. Arya does excellent with children, dogs, and cats. She does not chew household items up nor has she attempted to dig while outside for play time and potty breaks. Arya does get very animated for food and treat, she will eagerly attempt to figure out what she need to do to get her treat! She is smart and very easy to train but is not overly energetic. Her favorite past time is snuggling with her people! Arya is crate trained and is working hard on house training. We feel with a little time she will have it down pat! Arya does have a spinal deformity which is genetic. The vet calls Arya's condition spinalosis but that's a generic term. So while she will not be running any marathons anytime soon, our vet is extremely confident she will have a long and normal life. This issue does not require extra care, she can get up and down stairs just fine and you can't even tell by looking or interacting with her! Arya is spayed and current on all of her vaccines. She is about 25lbs. If you are interested in adopting this little fighter please apply here: http://www.jotform.us/form/33535710679157 (Less)

Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Rhode Island if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
