Rescue Me ID: 17-09-18-00181Templeton (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered

Meet Templeton, a 5 year old Doxi/pug. His previous owner could not give him the life that he deserved so she has done the right thing and surrendered him directly to us. He weighs 14lbs, his neutered, microchipped & UTD on shots. He is also house trained after learning a routine. We had a trainer evaluate him to get a better idea of his ideal home. She believes that in an experienced, quiet home with other dogs he would thrive. He is insecure but warms up to you quickly with treats, he loves to play and loves other dogs, the city is stressing him out and he gets nervous but he is doing really well in his NJ foster home. When stressed, ... (Read More)Templeton can be nippy but it is only when he is fearful/extremely stressed. Please consider giving this adorable little guy a chance. Want to adopt a FWFP pup? Fill out our online adoption application by visiting our website: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html **Please note that our dogs may be located in foster homes around NJ and the NYC area. It would be a great help to us if you can pick up your dog from transport, (which is located in Astoria) or foster home.** **PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR INQUIRY** We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them. Please do not submit an inquiry if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $475. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. They are then placed on the website. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested in it, we make arrangements with the waiting foster to pick the animal up from the airport to then meet with the potential adopter. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option! (Less)
