Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. Hi, I'm Hope. I am 5 or 6 years old. Some say I'm a real beauty with my uniquely colored coat of black with tan mingled all through it. I don't let the compliment go to my head, though. I am very sweet and love my humans. I follow them ... (Read More)everywhere when they call me. (I used to be called 'Bella' and I know to come when called by that name, too. I'm pretty smart.) I love my foster fur sisters although I can get grumpy if they get in my space or too close to my food. I am house trained but will happy tinkle sometimes. I love to sleep in the big bed, but I am also crate trained. I had a rough time at the shelter and I'm so thankful that I was rescued! Now all I need is a home to call my own. Would you like to be my new family and love me forever? You won't regret it!!! Fill out an adoption application today: http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724 RI RESIDENTS- At this time we are not registered with this state and are unable to adopt to residents. The process to register is lengthy and will take some time. We are currently working on this process TRANSPORTATION HELP! If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don't let distance stand in the way of your adoption. Rescue Me ID: 14-11-09-00424Brenda (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Health: Vaccinations Current

These pups were thrown out under a bridge on a road where there were no houses. A construction crew for the telephone company was working in the area and found them. When our friends got there, all it took was the sound of them opening a can of food for three of them to run out. They were starving. There were supposedly five of them so a search began for the others. Sadly, the fourth one was found already dead from starvation, his body still warm. If only they had been found sooner. Of course, based on where they were dumped, they were lucky to be found at all. The fifth one was eventually found, but he was terrified. It took a trail of dog ... (Read More)food, and about 30 minutes, to coax him close him enough to catch him. They are still thin, but we're working on fattening them up. Their hair is patchy and missing in spots, but it will grow back. The important thing is that today they are all healthy and happy pups. They appear to be a mix of Dachshund and Bassett Hound and are about 2 1/2 months old. Briley is the brown pup with longer hair. Brenda is also brown, but with shorter hair. Brandi and Bruck are the black pups. Please help these four innocent creatures find the loving homes they deserve. The litter has: Briley brown longer hair Brenda brown shorter hair Brandi black Bruck black Interested in adopting?
