Hi! Thanks for looking at our ad! We are bonded sisters; Ellie (left) and Lucy(right). We are being fostered in Pahrump, Nevada (one hour from Las Vegas) and for adoption through West Star Ranch, a no-kill rescue. We are in need of a life-long home TOGETHER. Our parents abandoned and likely hit or yelled at us so we took some time to trust people and can be a bit shy but warm up nicely once we know you are kind. We both are well behaved, housetrained and love to be held and in your lap. We also love to go for car rides and get a bit scared if you leave without us (probably due to abandonment). We live with six other dogs of all sizes ... (Read More)and two cats and get along great. Our dog parents likely were chihuahua, dachshund and maybe, especially with Ellie, there was a taller breed like Min-Pin or Mini-greyhound. Neither of us weight much more than 8-10 pounds so we are little. We need the following in our home to be safe and successful: 1. Middle-aged to Senior calm parents without children (children increase their anxiety and risk for getting out unsupervised); 2. Stable home-owners with a fully fenced yard, four-foot or higher (Lucy, the smaller chi-weenie looking, can jump and climb); 3. Never to be left outside without supervision (Lucy will get anxious and climb out); 4. Affectionate, life-long committed human parents. In return we promise to be equally affectionate and give you more love in return than you could ever hope for. Please consider us for adoption. You won't regret it. **Note: our adoption fee is 150.00 total as a pair. A signed agreement to keep us together always. Allowance for a pre-adoption home visit and follow-up contact. This helps you and us to adjust successfully. Please call our foster Mom and come meet us! We need a home soon as we are becoming bonded with all the other pups in the home and don't need another heart-break. (Less)

Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.

lnteresting Dachshund Trivia Low-Cost Nevada Spay & Neuter Clinics
Dachshunds are good travel companions. Dachshunds are named for Dachs, the German term for Badger, which these dogs were bred to hunt. The short legs of a Dachshund are well suited for digging and getting inside badger burrows. Dachshunds are often referred to as wiener dogs because of their shape.
