Rescue Me ID: 17-11-15-00317Kami (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Kami. I'm a young girl, only about a year old, and a 'low-rider'. I don't know exactly what that means but my foster mom says it's because my legs are so short and my body is really long. They say I'm possibly a beagle/basset/dachshund mix. I'm about 30 pounds and I'm pretty sure I'm meant to be a lap dog. I love to go on walks, although I'm still trying to figure out the leash, give kisses, play with toys, and chew on bones. I really like to chew on things but I don't chew on things that are important to my people, I keep it narrowed down to toys and bones. I'm house trained but I haven't figured out the dog door yet. ... (Read More) I watch my fur siblings go in and out of it but I don't quite understand it. Oh, and I'm a little afraid of going down stairs. I can go up them just fine but something about going down is scary. My foster mom says I'll learn, it's just taking a little time. I'm also working on some basic training like sit, stay and down. I don't tend to jump up on people but if you're sitting down, whether it's a chair, on the couch, on the floor, I will try to climb into your lap. Like I said, I'm pretty sure I was meant to be a lap dog. I am kennel trained, although I don't understand what 'kennel up' means yet. You just need to toss a small treat inside and I'll get right in. I'm actually really good and quiet in my kennel. I like other dogs, and understand when they tell me no, and cats. I haven't had a chance to be around kids yet but I'm sure I'll love them too! If you're looking for a young, laid back girl still in training then please consider me. I'd love to have a family I can call my own! Kami is current on vaccinations, HW negative, spayed and micro chipped. If you are interested in Kami, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Doc! Can this guy be any cuter?! Doc came to Revolution Rescue from a shelter in KS where he was at risk of being euthanized. He is a Dachshund mix, just over a year old, and is a sturdy 20 pounds. In his stay with his foster family, they have discovered that Doc must not have had a lot of things to call his own in his previous life, because he sure likes to guard the things he has now! This is very challenging at times but his fosters are dedicated to helping him overcome his fear of loss. For this reason, Doc would be best in a home with those who will continue his training to be sure he stays on the right path. Even though he ... Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

This sweet boy is Cruz. Cruz came with his sister from St. Croix. They were street dogs, knew very little kindness, and actually watched their sister be hit and killed by a vehicle. We agreed to take them however due to luck and weather restrictions they arrived months before we were expecting them. They were in boarding for a bit and then arrived to us in Sidney. They went to 2 temp fosters who were both awesome! When one went to Kearney she took them as both had foster offers in Kearney. Cruz's foster wasn't fit and ended up dropping him off at the vets office and leaving without our permission. While we are glad that he's safe as his ... (Read More)foster wasn't obviously a safe option, he needs a committed loving adopter!!! He is fully vetted (yes this means he's neutered). He is dog friendly but doesn't like rambunctious puppies in his face. He's done pretty well on house training and crate training. He charmed all the vet staff who can't stop singing his praises. He's a shorter guy medium sized, maybe some kind of Dachshund, Lab, Shepherd mix? Whatever he is he's adorable and charismatic and will absolutely bring personality, levity and laughs to any home that gives him a chance. (Less)
