Rescue Me ID: 17-09-21-00183Morgan (male)

Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Morgan is a 9 year-old miniature daschund. He has not been neutered, and is not current on vaccinations. He is housebroken and kennel-trained. Loves to play fetch! Sadly, our household has been turned upside down this summer, with the death of our child, my husband becoming disabled, and my having to return to work full-time. Morgan is sadly not receiving any attention whatsoever, besides being fed and let in & out for potty breaks. I can't stand the thought of him living out the rest of his life mostly being in the kennel, except for the evenings when I'm home. I'm praying that a retired couple will want to add him to their ... (Read More)household. We are not asking for any adoption fees due to the fact that he's behind on his vaccinations. (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kitch is a two year old yorkie dachshund mix. Kitch was surrendered to a local shelter and was set to euthanized due to his cocky attitude. Kitch can be a jerk so a home with no kids is a must. Kitch needs a home with discipline. We are not sure if he may have been abused at some point but he does show some characteristics of abuse. Kitch will have to be neutered. He weighs around twelve pounds. He is housetrained and some what crate trained. Kitch thinks he is an alpha dog and does like to buck up to the male dogs. He is doing fine with female dogs. Being neutered should help. Kitch seems to like women more than men as well. When he was ... (Read More)surrendered, he was a little snappy. He has never bit or broke skin. Kitch needs a home that will show him that people are not all bad and that he can trust people. While in foster care, kitch has started sleeping in the bed with a teenager. If grabbed suddenly or hit, he may snap at people. Kitch does get along with cats. He is leashed trained and likes to ride in the car.     hi my name is Pinkle. I am a tiny little girl who just wants to love you. I love you so much that when I am not sitting on your lap I am playing with your shoes. You will often hear me throwing your shoes in the air and chasing them. Not sure why but I find this extremely fun. I have a few issues which cause me to sometimes spin in circles and when you call me I cannot always find where you are as I might not be able to see perfectly. Other times I am like normal and follow you around perfectly. I am not housebroken but if you take me out regularly or when you see me spin extra fast I do ok. I am about 2 years-old and weigh 12lbs but i ... (Read More)look smaller as I have a delicate frame. I would not be good in a home with children because I can get stressed so older, calm children only please or even better and adult only home. I am good with other dogs and cats although I do not play with them. I do ok by myself with your shoes. I also have some favorite stuffed friends also. If you are a person who is willing to take me as I am and love me I promise to always be your best friend. I will listen to all your problems and snuggle with you when you need a hug. I may be a little different but I deserve a happy, loving home as much as any other doggie. My fee is 100.00. I am up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. Rescue Me ID: 17-07-15-00408Peanut (female)

Dachshund    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi everyone my name is Peanut. I am a small, female dapple Dachshund. I weigh about 10lbs and am approximately 8-9 years old. I am blind but that doesn't stop me from having a normal life. I am super active and very loving. I absolutely love to be outside running in the grass but my other favorite thing is snuggling. I don't hide the fact that I want attention. I will throw my head back with a good hearty bark to remind you that I am here and deserve your attention. I was given up by my owner because they would let me out in the yard and I would wander off and get picked up by animal control so I MUST have a safe, fenced in yard. I am ... (Read More)small too so I shouldn't be alone in the yard anyway. I stayed at a foster home and they said i was not potty trained. So far at my new foster home where I am let out often I am doing pretty well. No guarantees but I will do my best with your help. I am good with other dogs and cats and older kids. I am looking for a loving, calm home where I will get lots of attention and where there is not a lot of changes with the furniture so I can get my pattern down on how to get around. If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an application at www.tireddogrescue.com (Less)

Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
