Rescue Me ID: 16-05-25-00331Cleo (female)

Dachshund    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations, Fearful/Anxious,
 Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Cleo is a short hair dapple. She is loving dog, that will sleep on your lap as long as you let her. She loves to snuggle and loves the outdoors (except the snow). She has problems with going to the bathroom: she cannot hold it for very long. She doesn't just randomly relieve herself, she just can't wait long. She needs to be outside during the day, in a sheltered area, as much as possible. She is kenneled at night. She is good with females, but afraid of men and iffy with children. She would be wonderful for a lady looking for a loving pet that enjoys affection. She is not given people food, as she ... (Read More)will eat as much as you give her. Food can be left down at all times, she only eats dog food when she is hungry. We are saddened that we cannot provide a home for our sweet girl. Her snuggles and 'kisses' more than make up for her bathroom issues. We love her, but cannot take her to our new apartment. She gets along well with other dogs and with cats. $30 fee is for nice dog kennel and dog bed. (Less)

these two Dachshunds have been together since the younger one was a pup and that is 9 years. so with that said I do NOT want to separate them. the older larger one is Saddie and she is 15 so it is sad to say she probably only has a few years left. they are great dogs that need someone that isn't gone everyday.

Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.

lnteresting Dachshund Trivia Low-Cost Michigan Spay & Neuter Clinics
Dachshunds are good travel companions. Dachshunds are named for Dachs, the German term for Badger, which these dogs were bred to hunt. The short legs of a Dachshund are well suited for digging and getting inside badger burrows. Queen Victoria was fond of Dachshunds.
