We were told Dozer is a Jack Russell/Dachshund Mix, about 8 months old. This sweet little guy is looking for his forever home! He's under 20 pounds and is neutered, completely vetted and microchipped. He's housebroke and crate trained for the most part but will need someone to show him the ropes once in a new environment. Dozer has been great with the other dogs and loves people, we're not sure if he's been around cats but that can always be tested. His adoption fee is $250 with an approved application. If you'd like more information or an application to then set up a meet and greet please contact us!

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-04-00100Sir Winston (male)

Dachshund    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Obese

My heart breaks that I have to let this little guy go but, I am only fostering after rescuing him. Winston is anot incredibly sweet and loving creature. He was purchased aseparately a gift for someone's child then once he grew he was constantly being kennel ed because he was in household with 2 young parents and 4 year old and golden retriever. Mom became pregnant and the couple split and no one wanted to take him because no one had time for him due to the fact that he needs soo much love on a one on one basis. The man of household always used raised voice therefore causing Winston to have a nervous peeing whenever he heard the male ... (Read More)voice. Since taking him in we have noticed my husband is very loving to Winston and vice versa but regardless even though he is loving on him he still releases just a little but with me.....this does not happen. No one has taken time to help him overcome this fear which is why they just asked me to just take him. We have worked with him a great deal and he has made progress but due to our work keeps us traveling out of state I don't feel it's fair to him. He so deserves a forever home filled with soo much love. Though we do we just took him as a foster. He deserve a world filled with love and he himself has so much to give. Not aggressive and does play well with other dogs I just think he would do better with alot of attention to just him without a life of surviving in a backyard or kennel. He was very overweight and ungroomed when I got him but has trimmed down a little and I keep his coat trimmed. He is a long hair. (Less)

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] jake weighs appox. 12 lbs has red hair with a lot of white now. I have had him since he was 13 wks old. i am very attached to him, but my husband passed away this past April and my granddaughter was taking care of him until she couldn't any longer, personal reasons. Then my girl friends daughter was taking care of him and now can't because her mother move into her house and she has allergies really bad. So now I have no one else to take care of jake. By the way, i'm in a re-hab facility for a broken femur. I need some one to take care of jake temporarily, until I get out of here

Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
