Name & Breed - Howie / Dachshund / Chihuahua Age & Weight - Approx. 1 year / 13 pounds Coat - Brindle / Short Foster Mom - Rachel - Pocomoke, MD E-mail - email@example.com Adoption Fee - $275 House Trained - Yes Fully Vetted - Yes Meet Howie. Howie is the 'total package!' He is handsome, sweet and bouncy, trouncy, trouncy, bouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! Howie has the cutest face and is a brindle dachshund mix about a year old. Howie's favorite thing is to jump up into your lap and cuddle with you. It's so funny to watch because he bounces around on his front legs 4 or 5 times before he springs up. Howie is house and crate trained. When it's time for bed or dinner, he heads straight to his crate to wait for you to close the door. He gets along wonderfully with all his foster brothers and sisters (of all sizes) and loves to share his toys or chewies with his foster family. Howie can be a bit of an alpha, but is corrected easily when reminded who's the boss. He is afraid of a simple nail trim, but he's getting over his fear with calm exposure to the trimmers. Howie is fully vetted which includes his shots, neuter and dental. For additional information about Howie, please email his foster mom, Rachel, at firstname.lastname@example.org Howie is looking for that special family because he is a special guy. Could that family be yours? **Please make sure when emailing about one of our dogs you check your spam mail so that our email responses won't get missed.** HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION THROUGH DASH RESCUE.NET AND AN ADOPTION PROCESS IS REQUIRED. A REFERENCE CHECK, VET CHECK AND HOME VISIT WILL BE CONDUCTED BEFORE BEING APPROVED. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. |Rescue Me ID: 14-06-18-00182Louie (male)|
Louie is an eleven year old, miniature, long hair, dappled, black and tan dachshund. He likes to be a companion and plays a little with stuffed animals. The best home for him would be with an older person/couple, no kids, no steps, no other pets. I need to find him a new home because he no longer gets along with one of my two pits. When I first got him he was 8 years old. I had an older Bassett mix and they did not associate with each other but got along, both low energy and not into playing with other dogs. When the Bassett died, two pits in need of homes came into the house. They all got along. but little Louie had two stay out of the way of the younger one, who was, and is, very energetic. Recently, the younger pit will not tolerate Louie, some of it is because of Louie's food aggression. He and Louie cannot be together. Louie is now kept in a bedroom and taken out separately. He likes to roam in his walks. A fenced yard would be best or someone that will take him out and be with him a lot. He will go to the bathroom in the house if not left out a lot. He does go on pee pads, but not always. I do not put a collar on him. He walks beside me in his strolls, which are not very long. He is chipped. He needs to be in a quiet house, with no, or limited, steps. As he is a miniature, he has issues getting up and down steps. He should not be around children. He is food aggressive. He has kidney disease and is on KD diet. He has a skin condition which is causing him to lose his hair. Was tested for thyroid disease and that was negative. It does not bother him. Heartworm negative. His eyesight is deteriorating. The doctor said he could have a cataract operation if it gets bad enough. Most of the time he sleeps in one of his two dog beds. He used to sleep on the bed before the other dogs came. He likes to take car rides and travels well. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-06-17-00599Oscar (male)|
Well howdy there folks!! Check me out! I'm Oscar the fun lovin' pup that hails from the great state of Tennessee! These K-9 Lifesavers people pulled me out of a real nasty shelter that nobody ever visited! Now I'm living at their boarding while they go fetch me a real good forever home. It's cool though, they have a nice big pond that I just love to jump in! Heck, they can't get me out of that pond most days except when it's chow time! I just love to play with the other dogs or like to bounce bounce bounce at these nice people that take care of me. I'm having a blast here but need a real home. Somebody to play with, take long naps and find new ponds with! I'm a pint sized dude that's big on fun! Won't you show me home sweet home? (Less)
|Animal ID: 20140594Brianna (female)|
Brianna came to us from a rural shelter where she was surrendered along with several other dachshunds. She is 5 years old, a beautiful dapple brindle. Brianna had never lived in a home, and had to learn to navigate steps, hardwood floors, and vacuum cleaners. She has decided a human bed is an awesome place to be. She loves cuddling, but is still a little shy with strangers. Brianna gets on well with all other dogs, not tested with cats yet. She is learning to play with my dogs and toys. She has done EXCELLENT with her potty training and has had only one accident since we began fostering her. She is a more calm, sweet dachshund and as she learns to trust humans more, Im sure she will come out of her shell more. Brianna will make a great dog for a family with older children, or an older couple. $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in MA, NH, and ME are subject to a mandatory quarantine period as per state laws. This will be an extra fee ($125) in addition to the regular adoption fee. Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
