Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Due to financial hardship, moving to small apartment, and varied work schedule we need to find Eve a new home. She is a sweet little soul, that will love you with all her heart. She is playful, fun to be around, loves to lay with you, sit on your lap, sleep under the covers in bed, and just a loving companion. Her eyes show her happiness. She loves to play with toys, and especially likes squeaker toys, which she loves to tear out the squeaker. She is mostly a house dog. Her only habit when left alone is getting into the trash. She stays in the basement during the day and goes outside. She will let you know when she has to potty. She does not ... (Read More)like extreme heat or cold. She can be left outside during the day, but again is mainly a house dog. I would watch her around small children. She does not like to be teased, have her ears pulled, and mishandled. She's not aggressive but will yelp and snip if she's being hurt. She loves attention and is a smart little cookie. Eve loves to eat, and loves treats. Need to be careful not to overfeed her, she's an eater. Please only serious responses. We are heartbroken over the dramatic change in our lives and this is a hard process on the family. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-17-00224Millie (female)

Dachshund    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Millie is a dapple black and tan. She would be a wonderful watch dog to an adult female as she is highly protective. She does not like adult males, and I believe she may have been abused by a male prior to my adoption of her at age 18 months. She has been seizure free since she was put on medication for them at age 2.

Animal ID: 32256648Havoc (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This little guy came into the shelter as a stray. When his owners saw him on the euthanasia list they chose not to take him back because he had impregnated one of their other dogs and they were upset with him. We don't know why a human would fault a dog they chose not to neuter for impregnating another dog, but what we DO know is this guy is a SWEETHEART! He's very submissive, gets along with other dogs, and has a charming, fun, moderately energetic personality but he also loves to snuggle and get kisses. We think he'd be a wonderful family dog and get along great with kids, especially if they'll throw the ball in the yard for him over and ... (Read More)over! We're unsure about cats. Havoc is kennel and potty trained, though he will whine for a couple of minutes when he first goes in his kennel. Havoc is quickly learning his basic commands of 'Sit', 'Come', 'Stay' and is very reliable with 'Drop it'. Havoc is a Chiweenie, which means Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, and he is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped!
