    This little guy has been looking for his furever home for a while now. He had been surrendered to a kill shelter. We saved him when his time was up. He is so sweet! He is still very shy but he is starting to come out and ask for attention. He will play with the other dogs.He has been neutered, dental, heart worm tested negative, nail trim, and bathed, had his rabies shot and distemper/parvo booster, he has been started on heart worm and flea/tick preventative.     Meet Oscar, also known as 'Stretch'. He is an adorable 5-6 yr old Dachshund, and is such a lover. He just wants to be with his people. He is shy at first, but once he warms up he has your heart. He is good with other dogs, and we believe cats also although there are non in his foster home but he did not show any reactions to cats in his temporary foster home.     This beauty is Lou Lou. We believe she is a Lancashire Heeler, approximately 1 1/2 yr old. She was dumped when she was pregnant, had her babies and has been an awesome mom! She is GREAT with other dogs, and played with them up to the day she gave birth. She will be ready for her forever home in about 2 1/2 weeks and will be spayed prior to leaving. She is good with kids and kitties also and is just a sweetheart! She is current on vaccinations and house trained and will be fully vetted when she leaves our rescue for her forever home.     Meet the adorable Mason. He is a 1-2 yr old Sheltie/Dachshund mix who was dumped by his owner because her new landlord would not let her keep him inside. He was chained outside, and was rarely fed or watered. Mason is neutered, up to date on shots, HW negative and will be microchipped before going to his forever home. He is house trained, and gets along well with other dogs. Cats are unknown. He can climb/jump a fence so will need to be watched, or require a wooden fence. He is a doll and loves people.     Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Kansas if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
