Meet the adorable Mason. He is a 1-2 yr old Sheltie/Dachshund mix who was dumped by his owner because her new landlord would not let her keep him inside. He was chained outside, and was rarely fed or watered. Mason is neutered, up to date on shots, HW negative and will be microchipped before going to his forever home. He is house trained, and gets along well with other dogs. Cats are unknown. He can climb/jump a fence so will need to be watched, or require a wooden fence. He is a doll and loves people. His adoption fee is $200.To inquire about Mason please email handsofhopegb@cox.net.

We are looking for a good home for my daughters dachshund, a 2.5 year dapple male dachshund. A home and vet check will be performed. The home must have a fenced in yard. This boy is very loving he loves to cuddle,be held and is use to sleeping in bed with someone. He is neutered. The only reason we are finding him a home is that our daughter is moving to Boston and can not take her with him. For his downside-he loves to wrestle and rough house and my dogs are not use to wresting unfortunately he has taken his wrestling too far with my dogs and has caused two large fights with my 11 year old male schnauzer that is scared of him. He needs ... (Read More)reinforced on their potty training-for the majority of time he does great with no messes in the house. If you don't take him out sometimes within approx. 30 minutes of eating or drinking he might potty in the house. He just need positive reinforcement on the potty training my daughter has not been the best at getting him out on time after he eats (treats right after potting outside). He is very eager to please, but stubborn as most male dachshunds are. The only other problems is the boy needs older children, he did bite our five year old grandchild twice but each time she startled him when he was sleeping once in his cage and the other time he was asleep on the couch and had been sick in fact she sacred him so bad he pooped himself, he has not bit her since he was sick months ago and since she has stopped startling him while he was sleeping. Other than that he is excellent with children. He allows our grandchild to carry him around, she gives him snacks with no problems. Plays with also with no problems, I just want whoever that might go to, to be aware they need to be cautious with him around children especially if he is sleeping or is sick. He is precious and deserve a wonderful loving home. It breaks our hearts to find him a home!!!!!!! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dachshund in Kansas
Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Kansas if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
