Rescue Me ID: 17-09-08-00444Hutch (male)
Updated post: Still looking for a home for this boy. He has some serious behavioral issues and needs training, for this reason I have yet to find him a suitable place to go. The constant peeing on everything is something I cannot tolerate anymore. If I cant find a good home for him soon, I will have no choice but to take him to the pound, none of the no kill shelters in my area have openings. I've left messages with the humane society of Indianapolis and gotten no response. Every day he ruins something new by peeing all over it. Anything I place on the floor gets peed on. Anytime he is able to access my bedroom, he jumps on my bed and pees on my pillows. This is driving me insane. Please someone take this dog. Original post: 2 year old mixed breed male, very sweet and loving dog. I've been his only owner, due to his excessive potty accidents and having children in the home, I cannot keep him any longer. I dont want to take him to a shelter, I just want to find a loving home for him. Please help (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-27-00540Tilly (female)
**Tilly is with a sister rescue, ABRA, Inc.** Tilly is a 27 pound doxy mix and is about 4 years old. Tilly has a BIG personality in a small package. Tilly is a very loving and happy girl and loves attention. She loves everyone she meets and is good with kids. She does well with other dogs that are submissive and on the calm/mellow side. Tilly would also do well as an only dog. Tilly is a smart girl and needs to have daily exercise. Tilly had separation anxiety when she arrived with ABRA. However, after work in her foster home she is much better. As long as she gets her daily exercise she is fine. Tilly would do well in a big family as she loves attention! Even though her anxiety is better we would love for Tilly to go to a forever home where she is not left alone for long periods of time. She just loves being with her people. Tilly is house and crate trained. Good with kids and calm/submissive dogs and is okay with cats. Please visit ABRA, Inc website for adoption information - http://allbreedrescueinc.com/adoption-info/ (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-11-00034Horatio (male)
Horatio : 7-8 yr old doxie/jack russell 15 lbs Adoption fee $175 If you love a cuddle bug, you don't have to look any further! Handsome Horatio adores being held close and sleeping under the covers right next to you. He's a super travel companion as he loves car rides, looking out the windows and meeting new people. He's social and friendly with everyone; he's good with other dogs as well but his favorite playmates are small-medium in size. He's currently in a foster home with 7 other dogs and is a super pack member; Horatio would also be fine as an only dog as he could then get all the attention he craves. He becomes quite animated when he's got a favorite toy or when he's going on a walk but his overall demeanor is quiet and easygoing. He's not 'yippy' at all; he'll give an occasional bark if all the other dogs get going but other than that, he doesn't make a peep. Too top it all off, Horatio is crate trained and extremely well behaved in the house. He's not destructive and is polite when visitors arrive. He does insist on being on the furniture, though; a soft sofa is his favorite napping site and he also wants to snuggle next to you when you are watching TV. Let us know if you'd like to adopt this great little dog! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-09-00337Chipper (male)
Chipper: 1 1/2 yr old wire haired dachshund/terrier mix. 12 lbs. Good with other dogs/no kids We believe that Chip would do best in a home with female, who do not have a lot of visitors. Chipper is the epitome of his name; he's feisty, perky and upbeat. He's a little rascal who is the life of the party and can always be found in the midst of his doggy friends, running and gnawing on legs and pulling on tails. He's really a hoot! But he has another facet to his personality ... he's an absolute love bug! Chip delights in being held and cuddled and melts over baby talk. He gives the very best kisses to show how much he appreciates the special attention. Although he relishes his shenanigans with his canine buddies, Chipper would still rather get TLC. He's unique in appearance as well; his little blonde mohawk make him look like a tiny rock star! You can't help but chuckle at him! But he doesn't mind! He does occasionally take a dislike to a person; we haven't figured out yet what bothers him but he barks and doesn't want the individual to handle him. For this reason, we recommend that he not be placed in a home with young children. He would thrive in an environment where he had a playful companion as well as consistent love and affection. Chip's adoption fee is $150; he's microchipped, neutered and current on vaccinations. Due to the high volume of emails received, we recommend you visit our website and fill out an adoption application. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a certain dog is a good fit for your household. Adoption applications can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Thank you! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dachshund in Indiana
Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
