Marian is a mix of possibly miniature collie/dachshund. She is a little shy at first but has really come out of her shell. I got her and her sister and brother when they were dumped in the country. I took them and got all their shots, fixed, and microchipped. She is potty trained and crate trained.

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-09-00350George (male)
George Ambrose, the Two Tooth Wonder, is ready for his forever home! This guy is so sweet, so laid back and adaptable. That said, he does prefer human company! He likes to know where his humans are and we think he'd be perfect for a stay at home mom or a retired person who doesn't want to house train, as George is housetrained already! He does great on a leash. He's totally unfazed by 5 year old triplets. He has not been cat tested yet. He sleeps with us in the human bed and two other doxies and is totally well behaved there. He is like Norm from Cheers when he walks into the vet's office. Everyone loves him. Don't let his age (10ish) or bowed legs or lack of teeth fool you--he is extremely agile in jumping and his favorite perch is on the back (top) of the couch! Or sharing a chair with a human. He's even been caught running sprints up and down the hallway. Does he sounds like just the guy you have been looking for? Submit your application at www.sophiasgracefoundation.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-30-00274Eli (male)
Meet Eli. Isn't he the cutest? This little guy is an almost 3-year-old Boston terrier mix. He's such an adorable combo of unknown breeds. We see some dachshund and possibly beagle. He's a little guy with a lot of personality. He weighs about 20 pounds and is full of happy-go-lucky smiles. Eli can be shy at first in some environments, but once he warms up, he loves to get attention. Eli has been raised around kids, cats, and dogs and does well with all of them. He could also do well as an only pet as long as he gets sufficient playtime and cuddles. Speaking of playtime, Eli loves to play fetch--tennis balls are awesome. He knows some basic commands and walks well on leash. He likes to snuggle in bed with his people and would be an excellent dog park candidate. He is crate trained, but does bark a bit once you leave him and then he settles down. In case you haven't noticed, Eli had cherry eye in his picture, but that is corrected now. He is already neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you would like to adopt Eli, please complete an application on our website at email@example.com. HIs adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-09-00337Chipper (male)
Chipper: 1 1/2 yr old wire haired dachshund/terrier mix. 12 lbs. Good with other dogs/older kids/most people Chipper is the epitome of his name; he's feisty, perky and upbeat. He's a little rascal who is the life of the party and can always be found in the midst of his doggy friends, running and gnawing on legs and pulling on tails. He's really a hoot! But he has another facet to his personality ... he's an absolute love bug! Chip delights in being held and cuddled and melts over baby talk. He gives the very best kisses to show how much he appreciates the special attention. Although he relishes his shenanigans with his canine buddies, Chipper would still rather get TLC. He's unique in appearance as well; his little blonde mohawk make him look like a tiny rock star! You can't help but chuckle at him! But he doesn't mind! He does occasionally take a dislike to a person; we haven't figured out yet what bothers him but he barks and doesn't want the individual to handle him. For this reason, we recommend that he not be placed in a home with young children. He would thrive in an environment where he had a playful companion as well as consistent love and affection. Chip's adoption fee is $150; he's microchipped, neutered and current on vaccinations. Due to the high volume of emails received, we recommend you visit our website and fill out an adoption application. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a certain dog is a good fit for your household. Adoption applications can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-04-00095Canelo (male)
Canelo is a charmer. Particular in the company he keeps. He does need a warm up period and can be grumpy. He loves belly rubs and long walks. He would do great with a veteran or senior. Canelo likes cats but no kittens! He plays too rough with them. He like to play fetch with a little ball! He can be as sweet as he looks if you give him time to warm up to you. He will be protective too. If you know a lonely senior who needs a house trained companion please consider Canelo! Discounts are given to seniors and veterans.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dachshund in Indiana
Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
