Rescue Me ID: 17-11-14-00018Luckie (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hello future family! My name is Luckie, and to the loving people who choose to make me a part of your family, you really will feel like the luckiest humans alive to share your home and heart with sweet and wonderful me! I am 7 months old, and I am what my friends jokingly refer to as a chiweenie, which means I am a dachshund/chihuahua mix. I have stunningly handsome good looks with my reddish-brown fur, and my cute button nose and eyes are even the same color! But for as cute as I am, my personality is what really makes me a ... (Read More)special little pup! I weigh in at about 8 pounds, so I am the perfect size to snuggle up in your lap for lots of sweet cuddle sessions. Fetching Tails Foundation saved me and my momma Nessa from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where our previous owner left us behind when they were moving out of state and couldn't take us with them. But thankfully our friends from FTF were at the shelter that day and we got to go go to loving foster families instead; I am so happy in my foster home and am ecstatic to have a second chance to find a true forever family! I am the happiest little guy you will ever meet, and love everyone of all ages that I have met. My foster mommy says I am the total package: I am playful and enjoy bursts of running around (especially in my foster mommy's fenced yard: like so many doxies I love to explore and sniff out fun scents!), but I am also equally as content to curl up on the couch with you for some tv and snuggle time. I am happiest when I am around my favorite people, and pretty much everyone fits in the category of my favorite people! I also get along great with other dogs: I immediately think every pup I meet is my new BFF. I love to dole out sweet kisses and make everyone, human and canine, smile! Remember when I said I am the total package? It is so true! I even have really great manners for such a young fellow. I am crate trained (though I will bark a bit when my foster mommy first leaves for work because I would rather be following her around to see what fun we can get into!), and I am almost 100 percent fully potty trained (I have learned the potty-break routine in my foster home and I haven't had any more accidents there, so I just need a bit of time and patience while I figure out the schedule in my new home!) My entire goal in life is to make my people happy, and I am attentive to directions my humans give me; foster mommy says I am a good boy because I always come when she calls my name. What can I say? I am a happy boy who loves to spread my joy to everyone around me! If you think I sound like the fun, cuddly, super sweet little dude for you, please get in touch with my friends from Fetching Tails soon and tell them you would be lucky to adopt Luckie! Kisses, snuggles, and love, Luckie ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS: *ADOPTION FEE: $250 *Be at least 21 years of age *Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date) *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through. Rescue Me ID: 17-11-11-00361Nessa (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi friends! My name is Nessa, and if you have always dreamed of having a cuddly kangaroo as your best friend, well, you are in luck because I am a happy, bouncy little lady who is looking for a forever home with a dance partner to call my own! I am what my friends call a chiweenie, which is a very silly way to say I am a dachshund/chihuahua mix. I am about four years old and weigh in at a svelte 12 pounds, which is the perfect size for lots of snuggles and cuddles on your comfy, cozy lap! I have gorgeous coppery gold hair, a ... (Read More)happy smile on my face, and big antenna ears that stick out sideways so I can hear you tell me what a sweet, lovely girl I am! And did I mention yet that I have a dancer's body? I love to dance and bounce happily so you always know how much I love life! My friends from Fetching Tails Foundation saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, after my previous owners left me because they could no longer keep me. Thankfully, my foster mommy was at the shelter that day and I got to go home with her instead of staying at the busy shelter. Home life is definitely more my style and I am having the best time with my foster family! I have a kitty cat friend and a big lab friend, and I get along fabulously with both! I would be content in a forever family with or without furry friends because I am definitely most happy when I have a human to snuggle with...nothing makes me happier than curling up on your lap for some Netflix and chill time. I am so friendly with every human I meet, and I previously lived with kids before I was surrendered by my last family. I also love to eat, and will do my happy, bouncy dance to entertain you in exchange for some yummy treats! I am a very well-behaved little princess, too! I am potty trained, though because I am a little girl with a little bladder if I am home alone for more than about 4 hours I might have a little tinkle accident. I would do great with someone who is home often to let me do my potty business and who will love to snuggle for big chunks of the day! When my foster parents are at work, I am very happy to lounge in my favorite doggie bed and rest up so I can greet them with my signature dance when they walk in the door. I also know a couple commands including sit and come. My dream day in my forever home is pretty much wake up and snuggle the day away with my favorite people! If that sounds like your dream day, too, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon and tell them Nessa is the perfect little baby girl for you! As much as I enjoy my foster home, I am so excited to start my happily ever after with you as soon as possible! Kisses and cuddles (and more cuddles!), Nessa ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS: *ADOPTION FEE: $250 *Be at least 21 years of age *Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date) *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-23-00194Poppy (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

As the days get colder, perhaps it will help to have a flower in your life. Enter Poppy! She's an almost 4 year old Dachsuhund/Bull Terrier mix, and we have to say it's one of the cutest mixes out there. She's a long, low, oversized wiener dog with the adorable square head of a bull terrier. We love her! Poppy was adopted from us as a puppy but sadly was returned when her owners found they were no longer able to provide Poppy with the care and time she needed. Poppy has been living happily in foster care, and she's proven herself to be one of the most loyal, emotional companions out there! Poppy is a nervous nelly, and she really attaches to ... (Read More)one person at a time. She wants to be someone's little princess! Poppy will do best in a small family with kids 12 and up who are more gentle than rowdy. She loves other dogs and will play play play all day if she can! We'd love to see her go home to a quiet house with another pup to keep her company and give her some confidence. Poppy has allergies that can flare up at certain times of year, so her adopters should be prepared to help manage that during her itchy seasons. Email Gabrielle at caninemanager@animalcareleague.org if you think Poppy might be the flower to complete your bouquet! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-22-00426Tina's Pup- Pippi (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Pippi! She is one of 4 puppies that came to us with their mother, Tina. Tina had eclampsia and had to have an emergency C-section to deliver the pups. We were told the dad was a chihuahua/dachshund mix. Pippi is a typical puppy who will require structure and boundaries in order to learn manners, like potty training. She is the shyest of the litter and is a real mama's girl. She doesn't like to leave Tina's side. She would likely benefit going to a home with another dog who can be the leader. Pippi's adoption fee of $350 helps cover the cost of her vetting. Pippi has an appointment to be spayed at our vet in Bolingbrook, which the ... (Read More)adopter will need to comply with. We also require that Pippi attend a beginning puppy class at the location of your choice that practices positive reinforcement training. A training deposit in the amount of $200 must be provided in a check form until proof of training has been completed. Upon completion, the check can be destroyed or returned. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at info@perfectpooches.org. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped. (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Paris! She is one of 4 puppies that came to us with their mother, Tina. Tina had eclampsia and had to have an emergency C-section to deliver the pups. We were told the dad was a chihuahua/dachshund mix. Paris is a typical puppy who will require structure and boundaries in order to learn manners, llike potty training. She is the second smallest in the litter. She is very confident around her siblings, but she is more of a follower than a leader. She would do great with another dog in the home to be the leader. Due to her small size we would prefer she go to a home without young children. Paris' adoption fee of $350 helps cover the ... (Read More)cost of her vetting.
