Rescue Me ID: 17-01-16-00137Maisie (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBURB OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Hi there! My name is Maisie and if you are looking for a best friend who is the perfect mix of playful companion and cuddle buddy, it is your lucky day because I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am a 4-year-old beagle/dachshund mix, and believe me when I say low-riding doggies don't come cuter than me! I have adorable short, stubby legs that hold up my long 20-pound body. My black and tan fur feels like velvet when you pet me. And my beautiful big hound ears perfectly frame my face so they can ... (Read More)highlight my soulful eyes that are filled with love and affection! I was found in a crate in Chicago with a note from my previous owners saying they could no longer take care of me. I was brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control, and my friends from Fetching Tails quickly came to my rescue. I am so happy to get a second chance at a happy, loving life, and I am having great fun in my foster home while I wait for my forever family. I have dog and cat friends, and I love them all dearly! I enjoy playtime in the yard with my canine companions, and am very gentle with the kitties: I love to follow them around with my tail wagging to earn their trust. I would do well in a forever home with a furry friend or two to hang out with. I also love people, particularly cuddling with my people! Cuddling is definitely my favorite activity: if given the option, I think I would pick cuddling over pretty much anything else! I am very gentle, and will calmly jump up next to you on the couch so we can snuggle close to each other. Some of my other favorite activities include play fetch with tennis balls, playing tug-of-war, and going for strolls around the neighborhood with foster mommy. I am a polite, well-mannered girl as well. I am potty trained, and know a few commands such as sit, no, and wait. When foster mommy leaves the house to run errands, I don't get into mischief while she is gone and nap on my favorite doggie beds until she comes home. I get attached to my people, so I think it would be nice to have someone who is home more often than not so we can enjoy our playtime and snuggle times as much as possible. What can I say? I am a loyal girl, and I will reward the lucky family who adopts me with a lifetime of devotion, sweet kisses, and lots of cuddles. Doesn't that sound like a dream life? If you think I could be the girl for you, please get in touch with my friends at Fetching Tails soon! I can't wait to start our fairy tale life together! Love and cuddles, Maisie If interested please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org or if any questions please email us at Info@fetchingtailsfoundation.org Adoption Requirements: *Be at least 21 years of age *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment *Lives in 50 mile radius of Itasca within the Illinois border Adoption Fees: Senior dog - 8 years and up, $75 Adult or young dog - 6 months to 7 years, $250 Puppies - under 6 months, $350 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-05-00365Talbot (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Talbot is a goofy, super friendly 1.5 year old terrier/Dachshund mix that came to ACL as a stray. Talbot has got it all! He is smart and active, but also incredibly affectionate. He just wants your attention - and we guarantee you will give it to him because he's too adorable to ignore! Talbot has a goofy face, silly personality, and a heart of gold. Talbot is quite the ham! He's wonderful with other dogs - he adores playing fetch and wrestling! He doesn't do well with cats, and children under 15 are a bit too rowdy for his terrier side, but give him a loving home with a canine companion and you'll see what a golden boy our Talbot truly ... (Read More)is. Talbot is living happily in foster care, so please email Gabrielle at caninemanager@animalcareleague.org to meet him! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-10-00354Chewey (male)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Are you always busy? Never any free time? Chewey can relate! This one year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix is one busy bee. He's always got something to do - he's sniffing over there, cuddling over here, walking around that way, and always on the go go go! Chewey is a confident, well-adjusted little man who knows that people are great. He came to ACL as a stray, and we're happy to help him find his forever family. Chewey makes the job easy by being such an affectionate, playful, intelligent boy! He's a little too mouthy and alert for young kids, and he'd do best with experienced adult dog owners who are interested in spending a bit of time on ... (Read More)training and bonding with him. He's good with other small dogs who match his vibe, and he'd adore a family who has some experience with dogs that have a bit of extra ZIP! Chewey has a strong prey drive, so he's not a good choice for a home with cats or small animals. Chewey loves to go for walks and explore, so an adventurous, active home is a must for this little detective! (Less)
