Jordan is a long, short and squat, six-year-old, black and tan, glossy, male Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher-mix looking for a loving guardian. Jordan landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control when his family could no longer care for him. He was taken in by Famous Fido's Rescue. All four of Jordan's short squat legs are a little bowed, but he gets around just fine '| In fact, he loves to go for walks. Jordan is great with other dogs. Jordan is a loyal and loving fellow who is crate-trained and does well with housebreaking once he's on a schedule. He dislikes it when you reach into his crate '| but he's fabulous if he comes out on his own. So, Jordan is looking for a patient dog-lover who will wait for him to mellow out in their home. His love and loyalty will come in time '| it just can't be rushed. Jordan is neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, and heartworm-tested. My name is Sassy and I am a cute 5yr old little 35lbs Beagle Dachshund mix that is looking for my perfect family. I am so sweet I am just like sugar! I just love attention and will follow you around waiting for you to pet me. I get along great with most dogs and cats and like kids too! I am housebroken and can go a long time so if you work I would do well as long as I get to go potty before you go to work. I lived in a home with a yard and love it but I does love walks too! I am also crate trained too. She has had two families in her life.. her first family had her since she was a puppy for 1.5yrs and we do not know why she was given up. Her next family adopted both her and Ellie Mae from two seperate locations but they have lived together since then, the family ran into a personal issue and could no longer care for both dogs and asked for help. He looks like Jack Russell Terrier but has a long body and longer nose like a Dachshund. He was lucky to find a terrier-lover to bring him home as her foster dog. He loves all the other dogs in his foster home. He can sometimes be a little too rambunctious with cats. Jackson is extremely loving with those he knows and trusts. Binnett is a sweetheart from an owner who had a stroke, now unable to care for her and Sierra (Binnett's Momma). Binnett is only 4 years of age, born 1-24-09, and weighs 19#'s. Binnett had Cherry eyes when she came to HELP. Dr. Ruth Weichmann DVM at Valley Animal Hospital did such a beautiful repair for this sweet rescue girl! THANK-YOU MY FRIEND!!! Binnett is great with people, other dogs, and cats too! She goes outside to potty, but may have used pee pads in her past. She could easily be re-trained if a home wanted to do this. This adorable boy is only about 5 months old. He just loves to run and play and then cuddle. He weighed 17 pounds when he was at the vets to be neutered. He is happy friendly and a very cute puppy. Hes been vaccinated, dewormed, started on HW preventative, and microchipped. He is very good in a crate, walks on a leash and has not had any accidents in the house. Malcolm looks like a purebred Dachsund, and is great playing with the other dogs and puppies! Please email for current status and for more photos. Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
