Dachshund Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gavin is a chi-weinie, a chi dachshund cross we believe. He is Tiny, only about 7 pounds, although he needs to gain about a pound since he is a bit too thin. You can see how little room he takes up on the seat. I don't know how he ended up in a shelter, they said he was a stray that was not claimed. He is SUPER sweet and adorable, so much cuter then I managed to get on the freedom ride photos. He traveled great on the 12 hour ride home from the shelter. Perfect with the other dogs and puppies, although thought he may big bigger and tougher then the other tiny male dog we rescued. He was at a very rural shelter that was so over filled we paid ... (Read More)boarding to get him and 5 others out and kept safe, plus leave a bit more room to help dogs there have another few days. Gavin will be neutered before he is available. We can hold him with a deposit for the right family until he has been neutered. Current or past Vet number, and a contract is required to adopt. If your seriously interested in Gavin please send vet information in first email to us. (Less)

Jordan is a long, short and squat, six-year-old, black and tan, glossy, male Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher-mix looking for a loving guardian. Jordan landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control when his family could no longer care for him. He was taken in by Famous Fido's Rescue. All four of Jordan's short squat legs are a little bowed, but he gets around just fine '| In fact, he loves to go for walks. Jordan is great with other dogs. He'll come over and sit in your lap '| or if you're out walking him in the cold, he allows ... (Read More)you to pick him up and carry him inside. But, things tend to be on Jordan's terms. He dislikes it when you reach into his crate '| but he's fabulous if he comes out on his own. So, Jordan is looking for a patient dog-lover who will wait for him to mellow out in their home. His love and loyalty will come in time '| it just can't be rushed. Jordan is neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, and heartworm-tested.     Jackson is a handsome, sweet, loyal, and affectionate, five-year-old, 22-pound, male Jack Russell Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Jackson was given up to Chicago Animal Care and Control. He looks like Jack Russell Terrier but has a long body and longer nose like a Dachshund. Jackson is extremely loving with those he knows and trusts. He gives tons of kisses and tail wags. However, he can be a little nervous and un-trusting with new people '| he needs a ... (Read More)little time to warm up and get comfy. He is crate-trained and 95% housebroken '| he needs a consistent schedule. And, he's great on walks and rides nicely in the car.
