We are looking to rehome our 5 year old dachshund basset hound mix. Her name is Ladybird and we have owned her for about a month. We rescued her from the Mandarin Adoption Center with no history on her past. She is updated on her shots, spayed, and microchipped. Ladybird is a beautiful dog that loves curling up with her owners for a nap and chasing squirrels. She loves everyone and is looking for a forever home. She has severe separation anxiety that can be treated with medication (some doggy prozac), but we are college students and unable to afford it. I rescued this poor baby from a breeder, she has cherry eye badly and after a bath, her breath just had a foul odor, she also has rotting teeth. The breeder did not disclose a lot of information about her, but it is apparent this poor thing was pregnant at one time, i was told that she was bought for a high amount to rescue her and that this breeder gives her dogs except this one, which is due now, for rabies, etc. I need to find a home for her asap. Dachshund Dogs can make good pets in Florida if they match your IifestyIe. The Dachshund is a long, short-legged dog with a temperament similar to that of a terrier. Dachshunds are cheeky, playful, mischievous, and resistant to training or discipline. Dachshunds do well with older children. Dachshunds are well suited to apartment life but need exercise, and it is important that they not be overfed as this breed is prone to weight gain.
