Rescue Me ID: 15-08-21-00178Mabel (female)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mabel is a little Chiweenie! Mabel was found stray in a neighborhood. She was thin and covered in ticks. Apparently she had been roaming and taking hand outs for a few weeks, but because it was a nice neighborhood, residents assumed she had a home. Mabel was taken in and given a lovely home by one of the residents. She was spayed, up to date on vaccines, and had the works at Banfield vet. We will provide her records. She is 11 pounds and approximately 2-3 years old. Her current guardian is very upset about having to give Mabel up. Her guardian has some serious health issues and has to move in with family. The family has a cat that ... (Read More)Mabel chases, which causes the cat stress and behavioral issues. She will not harm a cat but she will chase. She has not been around small/young children so a home with older kids or no children would be best. Mabel is a great little dog who would make a wonderful companion, especially to someone who has other small dogs or to someone who can give Mabel some play time with other dogs. Mabel lives in a home with a small therapy dog and they are the best pals. We are asking for a small adoption fee and brief home visit so we know where Mabel lives. We can arrange transport to her new home and find a volunteer for her home visit. (Less)

Dachshund    Age: Senior

Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Maggie is a short-haired black-and-tan miniature dachshund. She weighs 11 pounds, is spayed and heartworm negative (she takes Trifexis monthly), up to date on all shots. Maggie has a typical dachshund personality: she's affectionate - loves to be on my wife's lap or next to her on the sofa; she barks at the doorbell, bike riders, joggers, etc. She is good with our grandchildren (ages 4 and 7). We adore Maggie; however, when she is left alone, she will urinate on the floor, which aggravates my wife greatly. Maggie sleeps in our bedroom all night without having to go outside, so it appears to be a separation anxiety issue. I work full time and ... (Read More)my wife helps care for our grandchildren, so there are times when Maggie has to be alone for several hours, confined to the laundry room. We would like to find a home for her with a family where someone is at home most of the time. Maggie has always been an 'only dog' so we don't know if having dog companions would be helpful. (Less)
